Access Temple Conditional Admission

What is Access Temple?

Access Temple is a program for conditionally admitted students that will prepare you to become a successful undergraduate student at Temple University.

Access Temple will help you:

  • build advanced English skills

  • learn classroom skills needed to succeed in an American university

  • earn undergraduate credits

  • benefit from one-to-one and small-group academic support, including pronunciation coaching and tutoring

  • adopt essential college survival skills, including how to effectively use technology and speak in front of a class

  • study on Temple University’s Main Campus with access to all university facilities

  • interact with students from around the world, teachers and university advisors

Access Temple accepts new students in both the fall and the spring semesters. Students who successfully complete this program are automatically eligible to start their degree programs in Temple University’s next available semester without further TOEFL or IELTS testing.

How long does it take to complete Access Temple?

Access Temple has a clear time frame of one or two semesters, depending on your English level.

Do you have a 74–78 TOEFL?

You will be placed automatically in Access Temple 2; you must successfully complete one semester in Access Temple before gaining full admission to the university.

Do you have a 6573 TOEFL, a 5.5 IELTS or a 4652 PTE?

The Access Temple placement test will be used to determine whether you will complete one or two semesters in Access Temple. If your test reveals that you will need two semesters of the program, you will begin with Access Temple 1 and then move to Access Temple 2.

Students who successfully complete Access Temple 2 will be automatically admitted to the university without the qualifying TOEFL or IELTS scores other international students must submit.
