Events and Activities

At Temple University, learning English can take place anywhere—in and out of the classroom. IELP connects you to many events and activities on campus and in the Philadelphia region, including trips to museums, sporting events, parks and shopping areas. These activities also give you many opportunities to use your English, see new places, meet new people and experience the U.S.

Students receive a weekly newsletter with up-to-date information about upcoming activities and events.

Activities & events can include

  • sporting events, including Temple football and basketball, the Philadelphia 76ers (basketball), Philadelphia Union (soccer), and Phillies (baseball) games;

  • travel to nearby cities--Baltimore, New York City and Washington, D.C.;

  • camping and skiing and day trips to beach towns in New Jersey;

  • amusement parks; and

  • American holiday traditions, including visiting a haunted house for Halloween, eating Thanksgiving dinner and coloring Easter eggs.
